Eligibility
Contact by phone at 724-837-1808 or 1-800-353-6467. Our Early Intervention Program also has a referral form on the website at https://wcsi.org/parent-guardian-referral-form/ which can be filled out or they may also call to refer. Parents, teachers, physicians, nurses, or other caregivers may contact the WCSI Early Intervention Department to make a referral for services in regards to a child with developmental concerns. A Service Coordinator will meet with the parents to discuss the program, complete a developmental/medical history of the child, and a family assessment. The Service Coordinator will arrange for a multidisciplinary team evaluation of the child with the parent’s participation. This team will consist of professional, licensed therapists who will determine if the child is eligible for the program and make recommendations regarding needed services. For Behavioral Health services, individuals can self-refer or be referred by other community programs. The client needs to have a mental health concerns as well as the need for assistance in one or more domains - living arrangements, health/treatment, financial/legal, education/employment, informal supports, and recreation/leisure. Once a client is enrolled in one of our programs, the community-based staff involved in the case will make the recommendation based on their observations and communication with the family/providers. There will likely be some income-based criteria, such as being at or below 200% of the federal poverty level.
