Mercer County Children and Youth employees, affiliates will submit a referral to Dana Kennedy for clients that they are working with that are involved with the agency. To be eligible to receive a crib through the Cribs for Kids Safe Sleep Program, families must reside in Mercer County, be involved with Mercer County Children and Youth services, be expecting a child or have an infant under one year of age who does not have a safe sleep environment. Caregivers will be required to participate in a brief safe sleep education session that reviews recommended safe sleep practices and the ABCs of safe sleep. Following completion of the education component, caregivers will sign a safe sleep agreement acknowledging their understanding of the guidelines and confirming that the crib will be used as the infant’s primary sleep space.
