Eligibility
Expectant or New Parent/Caregiver -Must be pregnant (preferably in the third trimester) or -Have an infant under 1 year old Residency -Must reside in one of MHR’s service areas: Clovis, Portales, Tucumcari, or Fort Sumner (De Baca, Harding, Curry, Quay, or Roosevelt counties) Income-Based Need -Participation in at least one public assistance program (e.g., WIC, Medicaid, TANF, SNAP) or -Demonstrated financial hardship (can be self-reported or assessed during intake) Safe Sleep Education Completion -Must attend a short safe sleep education session (virtual), which includes: ~ABCs of safe sleep (Alone, on their Back, in a Crib) ~Dangers of co-sleeping and unsafe sleep environments ~How to use the provided crib and safety items properly Agreement Form -They understand the safe sleep guidelines -They agree to use the crib for the infant's safe sleep -They will not sell or give away the crib No Existing Safe Sleep Space -Must not currently have a safe crib, bassinet, or pack ‘n play in the home.
