- Eligibility
- "To become a client of Mainline Maternity Community Collective (MMCC) and be considered for participation in the Cribs for Kids® program, individuals must meet initial eligibility and engagement criteria designed to ensure both need and appropriate education around safe sleep practices. As this is a new initiative, MMCC is planning to provide cribs to participants through a structured and intentional rollout process. Initial eligibility criteria include: • Individuals who are currently pregnant or have delivered within the past 30 days • Families who do not have access to a safe, separate sleep environment for their infant • Residents of the communities served by MMCC, including Baltimore City and surrounding areas • Individuals experiencing barriers to care, including financial hardship or limited access to resources Program participation requirements include: • Completion of a safe sleep education session, including guidance on infant sleep safety and risk reduction for sleep-related infant deaths • Completion of a brief intake and needs assessment • Engagement in MMCC programming, including maternal health education, maternal mental health screening, or care coordination services Cribs will be distributed on a limited, one-per-infant basis, with priority given to families demonstrating the greatest need. In alignment with Infant Mortality Awareness Month and Infant Safety Month in September, MMCC will be launching its first community-based safety initiative, which will include: • Safe sleep education • Infant CPR training • Resource navigation and care coordination This initiative provides an ideal opportunity to integrate the Cribs for Kids® program into a broader maternal and infant safety strategy, while also creating opportunities for collaboration with healthcare providers and community partners. Through this approach, MMCC ensures that families not only receive a safe sleep environment, but also the education and support necessary to promote safe sleep practices and improve infant health outcomes."
