Eligibility
To receive a crib through Huddle Up Moms, caregivers must meet the following requirements: Child’s Age: The crib is for an infant under 1 year of age. Income: The family meets low-income guidelines or demonstrates financial hardship. Safe Sleep Environment: The infant does not currently have access to another safe sleep environment. Client Status: The caregiver must be a current client of Huddle Up Moms or one of our partner organizations. (We have a membership submission application that is offered in multiple languages that comes with a care navigation in the community) Education Requirement: The caregiver must complete a Safe Sleep education course prior to receiving the crib. All requests undergo a brief needs assessment, and we collect data on eligibility criteria to ensure cribs are distributed to families who need them most. This process also allows us to connect caregivers with additional community resources to support the health and safety of their child. Caregivers in need of a crib can connect with Huddle Up Moms in several ways. We have an established partnership network of more than 25 organizations across the region—including hospitals, home-visiting programs, and community-based nonprofits—that use our diaper bank and essential needs shop. These partners can submit bulk or individual crib requests on behalf of families through our secure operational management system. We also accept requests directly from the public. Caregivers can submit a request form through our online system at www.huddleupmoms.org/request or call our office at (540) 556-1001 for assistance. Requests are reviewed promptly, and our team coordinates with the family or referring organization to arrange crib distribution and provide safe sleep education. Our dual referral system—through trusted community partners and direct public access—ensures that cribs are available to families who need them most while streamlining the process for quick and efficient delivery
